The process of the experience itself
The tour begins with a short minibus transfer to the icefall, where the guide from Abisko Adventure provides guests with all the necessary ice climbing equipment, such as boots, crampons, helmet, climbing harness, and ice axe.
Afterward, the guide reviews the basic ice climbing technique and how to use crampons and an ice axe.
Then the ice climbing itself begins, where the guide belays one guest climbing up while the others wait for their turn and cheer on the climber.
For some, it is truly emotional as they may have overcome a fear while climbing and become impatient to do it again, after initially barely daring to be half a meter up. For the siblings, Josefine Thunder was the fastest up the ice wall, which made them extra proud.
Remember to dress appropriately, as you will be both exerting yourself and standing still waiting for your turn.
