Step into Kiruna’s pristine, ancient forests and experience the subarctic wilderness like never before. On this guided hike, you’ll have the opportunity to connect with the region’s unique nature and rich history.
Your local guide will take you along winding forest trails and share fascinating stories about Kiruna’s past—from the early Sami and Kven inhabitants to today’s modern mining town. Learn how the landscape and people have shaped each other through the centuries.
During the hike, you’ll gain insight into the amazing local flora and fauna. Discover which plants and berries are edible, learn about the trees that thrive in the harsh climate, and listen for bird calls. We’ll keep an eye out for tracks and signs of Kiruna’s iconic wildlife, such as reindeer, moose, and various small mammals.
Pickup is included from three locations in Kiruna:
Camp Ripan (15 minutes before start),
Hotel Arctic Eden (10 minutes before start), and
Hotel Scandic (at start time).
