Discover Abisko’s Winter Landscape

During the tour, you’ll learn to move on traditional snowshoes and experience the Abisko valley from perhaps its most beautiful side.

The mountain birch forest is home to rich wildlife even during winter. Along the way, we’ll search for tracks of mountain hare, ptarmigan, fox, and lemming—and with a bit of luck, perhaps even moose.

A Pause in the Stillness

During the hike, we’ll stop for a break with a warm berry drink. Here you can enjoy the silence, the mountain air, and the snow-covered landscape.

In clear weather, you’ll get a fantastic view over Lake Torneträsk and Abisko’s mountain world, including the well-known Lapporten—the distinctive U-shaped valley formed by the inland ice.

Start times: 9:30 AM and 2:00 PM Duration: approximately 3 hours

This includes: Snowshoes, warm drink, and transfer to and from your accommodation in Abisko or Björkliden.

Clothing and Equipment

Dress warmly according to the weather with a hat, gloves, warm pants, and jacket or snowsuit. We recommend bringing a backpack with an extra layer of clothing. This way, you can easily adjust your clothing if you get warm during the hike.

Pickup

Be at the pickup location you selected when booking at least 5 minutes before the stated time. We only stop at pickup locations that have been booked.

Pickup location can be specified or changed up to 24 hours before the tour starts.
